HOW TO MAKE OLD FASHIONED APPLE CRISP?
This basic apple crisp recipe, a true classic fall treat, is reminiscent of past generations. Pop this apple crisp into the oven and wait for your house to waft through the wonderful smell!
TO MAKE IT, I USED:
6 chopped golden apples.
1 cup of light brown sugar.
2/3 cup of old fashioned oats.
2/3 cup of all-purpose flour.
1/2 cup of small cubes of cold unsalted butter.
2 Tbsp. Of granulated sugar.
2 tsp. Of cinnamon powder.
1 tsp. of lemon juice.
A pinch of salt.
I preheated the furnace to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
With a non-stick cooking spray, I spray a medium baking dish, and I put it aside.
I added the chopped apples, white sugar, 1 tsp of cinnamon, and lemon juice to a large mixing bowl, I mixed well with an electric mixer, then I moved the batter to the prepared baking dish.
For the topping, I mixed the remaining ingredients in a different bowl.
To cut the butter into the oat mixture, I used a pastry knife, with a gentle downward turning action, until the mixture resembles pea-sized crumbs.
I spread the topping in the baking dish over the apples and kindly pat it out.
I baked for 45 to 55 mins, until golden and bubbly brown.
I served it hot and enjoy it!
They are so easy and very quick to make!
