Homemade Caramel Cake


How To Make Caramel Cake?

All you need for the cake is :

2 cups all-purpose flour.

2 cups granulated sugar.

2 cups softened butter.

1 cup of warm water.

2 large eggs.

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract.

1 teaspoon baking soda.

1/2 cup buttermilk.

For the frosting you’ll need :

1 cup softened butter.

3 cup granulated sugar.

2 tsp vanilla extract.

1 cup of heavy cream.

A pinch of salt.


Step 1:

I preheated the oven to 350 degrees F and spray two cake pans with cooking spray.

Step 2:

Combine flour and sugar until blended.

Step 3:

Meanwhile melt butter with water in a small saucepan, then pour over the flour and sugar. whisk again.
Add baking soda, eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk, and whisk until smooth.

Step 3:

Pour into prepared pans and bake for 25 minutes, and let them cool on a rack for 15 minutes.

Step 4:

Now, it’s time to make the delicious caramel frosting, In a saucepan, place 2 cups and half of the sugar, butter, heavy cream, and a pinch of salt, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.

Step 5:

Then add vanilla and 1/2 cup of sugar, and keep stirring until it becomes an amber color. Let it cool for about 15 minutes, and spread frosting on the cooled cake layers. Stack layers; ice top and sides.
