Granny’s Cocoa Cream Pie, like in dreams, can be adored by chocolate lovers; it can be eaten while the family is reunited during the summer; it takes an hour to cook in addition to the time it is stored in the refrigerator; the chocolate cream pie is very tasty, and you can proceed to prepare it regularly after tasting it for the first time.

TO MAKE THIS CREAMY PIE, YOU’LL NEED THESE INGREDIENTS:

Unsweetened Cocoa; I used 1/2 cup.

1/4 Cup.Of Cornstarch, or 1/2 cup.Of all-purpose flour.

3 Egg yolks.

11/2 Cups.Of white Sugar:

A dash of Salt.

2 Cups.Of Milk.

1 small spoon.Of Vanilla extract.

A 9“ Pre-baked pie crust.

METHOD OF WORK:

Step 1:

I started by combining the cocoa powder, with cornstarch (or flour), and whisked egg yolks in a medium mixing bowl; I added the sugar and salt, and I poured in the milk gradually. stirring continuously in a saucepan over medium heat.

Step 2:

I simmered until the sauce was rich and creamy, whisking constantly, and I added in the vanilla extract, stirring frequently for at least 10 to 15 minutes, as cream pies need time to thicken.

NOTE:

When you’re preparing something that calls for hard bottom baking, using a heavy, skillet to give you better results.

Step 3:

I keep stirring until the mixture thickened, then I poured everything into the pre-baked pie crust.

Step 4:

After that, I chilled in the refrigerator for several hours before serving.

Step 5:

At this stage, I garnished with whipped cream, cold whipping cream, or baked meringue, you can use what you like!!!
