Creamy Burrito Casserole

How To Make Creamy Burrito Casserole?

This time of year calls for hearty, warming dinners, and the creamy burrito casserole, made with hot peppers, cheese, and ground beef, will satisfy your hunger while also keeping you warm. This dish has the texture and flavor of Mexican lasagna thanks to the several layers of meat, cheese, tortilla shells, and peppers! Creamy tortilla casserole is a delectable and simple meal to make that everyone will enjoy.

It’s easy to make this Creamy Burrito Casserole dish on a weeknight, which is excellent for busy families. Burrito casserole is a delicious recipe that even the pickiest of diners will appreciate.

Essentially, this creamy burrito dish is a variation on the classic lasagna, but with Tex-Mex flavors.
When it comes out of the oven, it is a cheesy, gooey, deliciousness that is difficult to resist. You may find yourself burning your tongue a few times before realizing that eating a mouthful right out of the oven is not the best thing you could ever do.
Ground beef enhances the flavor of everything, but if you want a more nutritious alternative, ground turkey is a terrific choice for this meal. It is lower in fat and does not interfere with the various tastes.

It goes great with most traditional Mexican side dishes, including tortilla chips and guacamole, jalapeño sauce, and you can serve it with some grilled corn if you choose a healthier option.

Lean ground beef, I used one pound.

One large onion, chopped.

A taco seasoning packet.

Canned refried beans, I used the large can of 16-oz.

Condensed cream of mushroom; one large can.

2 Cups.Of shredded mild cheddar.

1 Cup.Of shredded pepper jack cheese.

¾ Cup.Of sour cream.

Flour tortillas, I used 10, cut in half.

¼ Cup.Of chopped cilantro.

A medium lime.

1st Step:

To begin, you need to cook the ground beef and onion in a large skillet until the steak is cooked through and the onion is soft.

2nd Step:

Stir in the drained and seasoned refried beans. Add the lime juice, cilantro, salt, and black pepper to the meat mixture and combine well.

3rd Step:

Spray a 13×9-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

4th Step:

In a large bowl, combine the soup and sour cream and whisk until well-combined. Fill the bottom of the baking dish with a little amount of the sour cream mixture.

5th Step:

Add some tortillas on the top. To keep them evenly distributed, place a few halves of them in the center of the plate. This should use around three big tortillas.

6th Step:

Using a spatula, spread a layer of the ground beef mixture on top of each tortilla. And then top with a cup of the cheese – mixed if you’re using both Cheddar and pepper jack.

7th Step:

Starting with the sour cream mixture and ending with the cheese, make a series of layers.
Optionally, you may cover the dish and store it in the fridge for up to 2 days until it’s time to bake it.

8th Step:

Set the temperature of the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. And then bake for another 20 minutes, or until the food is hot. It may take up to 30 minutes to fully reheat if refrigerated.

9th Step:

And to finish, you can serve your Creamy Burrito Casserole after 5 to 10 minutes of letting stand at room temperature.

To get the best results, prepare this casserole the night before and bake it shortly before serving it to your guests.

This dish may be made without cilantro if you don’t like the flavor of cilantro in general.
Ground turkey may be substituted for the ground beef in this recipe.

Top with a dollop of sour cream, a dollop of guacamole, and some salsa. Enjoy!
