CHOCOLATE PECAN TURTLE CLUSTERS

HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE PECAN TURTLE CLUSTERS?

Toasted pecans halved and smothered in smooth, luxurious caramel and covered with a chocolate coating. Chocolate pecan turtle clusters are often a success, and they only take a few minutes to prepare.
Turtles are a traditional sweet treat filled with pecans, smooth caramel, and chocolate. How does it really get any better?

During the holidays, you can find them in basically every supermarket in a variety of flavors.

Still, as much as I adore store-bought turtles and will never refuse them, nothing compares to making your own.

With just three ingredients, you can make these chocolate turtle clusters in no time, and the flavor variations are limitless.

They’re typically made with pecans, but they may also be made with toasted hazelnuts, walnuts, or almonds. If you have a nut allergy, pretzels are a perfect alternative.

When it comes to turtle chocolate candies, I’m not that picky. Whatever they’re made of, I’ll take them.

INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED:

Soft caramel, I used 12-ounces, you can use the homemade version or a store-bought can.

Toasted Pecans halves, I used 6-ounces.

8-ounces.Of Semi-sweet chocolate chips.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1:

The first step I did before I started preparing this dessert, is covering a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.

Step 2:

Then, I arranged the toasted pecan halves in groups of four like turtle legs in different directions on the covered baking sheet.

Step 3:

In a microwave-safe bowl, I poured the caramel cause it’s rolled, and I thawed it for 30 seconds, sometimes it was very hard so I added a large spoon of water and mixed well until I had a soft mixture.

Step 4:

And I let the caramel cool slightly so it wasn’t too sticky to touch, then I dropped a spoonful of caramel for each bunch of pecans with a spoon or tiny scoop.

Step 5:

In the microwave, I melted the chocolate chips, and I poured the melted chocolate over the caramel base, allowing it to spill to the sides and swirling it around until it fully covered the caramel.

Step 6:

And finally, I put the baking sheet in the freezer for at least 20 minutes or until the chocolate and caramel were completely set.
